Do I miss the Kardashians? Please, the chance would be a fine thing.

Hold on to your hats, I am about to shock you with something far worse than my undying love for James Corden. I don't have a television. Well, I have a box, I have a screen, I have DVD's but, I do not have BBC1, ITV, Channel Four or any other number or set of abbreviated letters you wish to throw at me. Do what you will with this information but, for now, do me a solid and let me dribble on about my new found pros and cons of not having Fern Britton or The Silver Fox himself, The Schofe, at my finger tips.

When I was at school it was well know that folks without a tele box were rather bizarre. Nice all the same but, still rather bizarre. I for one can admit to asking in shocked tones - "What you don't have a tv!? How do you watch Neighbours!?", allowing myself to think that they were deprived or even, uncool. I now know this is of course, rubbish. So, why has it taken me this long and four months without a television to realise it!?

I cannot continue without admitting that I, Briony Gaffer, have not gone cold turkey. I haven't shut off my connections with the world of entertainment entirely. I mean, how can you? There is a wealth of sites just a fingers click away which play host to all your favourite shows. The iplayers, the 4oD's, the TV links will not allow us to wave goodbye to their programmes without putting up a fight. Yes, I have been known to dabble in an XFactor or two, possibly a spot of Strictly with a dash of Who Do You Think You Are? on the side.

But as for the One Shows of this world, the This Mornings, the Downtown Abbeys - natta.

Do I miss it? no not really. Much to my, and probably your shock I have not spontaneously combusted at the reality of not being able to watch Jezza Kyle scream half arsed, badly strung sentences at a girl in a Juicy sweatsuit as she challenges her spotty man friend to a lie detector test, to see if he has in fact been sleeping his way through the guest list of Liquid and Envy. I have not broken down in tears each evening at the thought of not being able to watch Britain's Next Top Dog Model - and, yes it does exist.

Have I missed the Kardashians? hell no, they are everywhere, the chance would be a fine thing.

Without television one thing has become clear - I wasted a lot of time watching sh*t whilst I could be doing something far more productive with my time. I will still slap on a box set and I will not miss Jonathan Ross for love nor money - Biebs may be on. But the days are longer and the writing is better. So, for now, I shant complain.
